Courses after 12th ?

You will soon be out of school and are looking forward to college life. There are many colleges in India and the word college brings many thoughts to mind. While for some it is about reaching the corridors of the Top engineering colleges, or Top Medical colleges on the other hand there are many who are not sure about what course to do and which college to join .So while one is readying oneself for life after 12th, but the dilemma about which college to choose and which course to choose from the wide array of courses after 12th only increases.

This is one of the most confusing periods in the students’ life. First you should counsel yourself. Suppose that;

You have chosen PCM group or PCB group or Commerce or Arts in 12th standard. It means you have chosen your area of interest. Do not surprise or tense. You have done your best.

But yes, off course, if you wish to change your field for higher studies, you can go through many options according to your interest.

A student having Art stream in 12th standard can pursue his further study in art, humanities, management, media, fashion, journalism and tourism field.

A student having PCB or biology in 12th standard can pursue his further study in medical, pharmacy, science research and all art group fields.

A student having PCM or Math in 12th standard can pursue his further study in engineering & technology, pharmacy, architecture, and all art group fields.

And moreover, students from any of above streams can pursue their further studies in law, management, fashion, textile, social work and library science.

Engineering courses-

Engineering has a wide area of career option. If anyone has an avid desire to pursue his/her career in engineering then they have to pass out 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and with minimum qualifying marks. There are numerous government and non-government institutes in India which offers courses in various branches of Engineering. Among various colleges, Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs) are the most favored ones among the prospective students. The seven IITs are viz, Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee. Apart from these there are 20 National Institute of Technologies (NITs), couple of IIITs and several private institutes in India which are able to offer a grand platform for making a good career.

Different branches of engineering which boasts great potential for a blooming career in the engineering field are Agricultural Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Architecture, Automobile Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Ceramic Technology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Genetic Engineering, Industrial & Production Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Plastic Technology, Polymer Engineering, Rubber Technology, Space Tehnology, Textile Industry etc.

 Arts stream pursuer-

After passing the higher secondary level examination a student can pursue Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) taking a special subject as the major subject. Some important major subjects which are offered by various colleges are history, languages, literature, law, philosophy, religion, performing arts, anthropology, communication, sociology, psychology and many more. After getting the graduation degree a student can do masters degree (MA) in their selected subjects. For further high qualification one can opt for Ph.D degree in their respective subject. Here are some of the attractive career option for Arts stream pursuer. These are as Psychologist, Counselor, Economist, Market analyst, Sociologist, Social Worker, Historian, Anthropologist, Human Resources, Personal Executive, Writer/journalist/Editor, lawyer, Media Personnel, School Teacher/College Professor/university Professor etc. Apart from these an Arts graduate student can apply for UPSC exams, IAS, Banking, insurance exams and gets good jobs.

Medical courses-

The medical field is one of the respectable, challenging, responsible, Top paid and highly job oriented fields in India. Often, the main motive of most of the students behind choosing Biology after 10th standard is to become a well qualified Doctor; but this field offers a vast number of career opportunities other than MBBS Doctor. The major working areas in the medical fields are healthcare industries, pharmaceutical industries, hospitals and research laboratories. MBBS ,BAM, BHMS, BUMS, Nursing ,Physiotherapy ,Occupational Therapy ,Medical Lab Technician

Management courses-

Management is one of the highly job oriented career field. It is one of the most popular field among the students. Management involves regulation and maintenance of overall functioning and administration of an organization. Management field provides responsible, challenging and respectful position to an aspirant who wants to work in the corporate environment. It has various disciplines & specializations and has opportunity for global employment.

Commerce

It involves the activities of exchange the goods, money and services between the companies and persons. It has a few fields of specializations but very demanding and challenging.
