South Africa defeated U.A.E. by 146 runs in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.The South Africans are now in second position in the pool B.
Eearlier, In the first innings, South Africa given a huge impact on score board total of 341 for 6 against United Arab Emirates (UAE) in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 match at Wellington. After loosing Hasim Amla in begining Quinton de Kock (26) and Rilee Roussow (43) stitched a 68-run second wicket partnership though the innings wobbled after the wicket-keeper-batsman’s departure in the 19th over. De Villiers, whose 82-ball stay was laced with 6 fours and 4 sixes, then managed a 108-run fourth wicket stand with David Miller (49) to give the inexperienced UAE bowlers a hard time. De Villiers though was unlucky to miss out on his second ton of the tournament after being scalped by new-ball bowler Kamran Shazad. Then Behardien Smashed his third ODI fifty at just 31-balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. UAE pacer Mohammad Naveed picked 3 wickets while Shazad, Amjad Javed and skipper Mohammad Tauqir also picked in with a wicket each.
In reply Opener Amjad Ali looked quite decent against the South African bowling attack early on but lost his wicket for 21 when spinner JP Duminy came on. Andri Raffaelo, on the other hand never got going and was bounced out by Morne Morkel for five of 21 balls.
Khurram Khan, arguably UAE’s best batsmen, was also unable to deal with the steep bounce and pace that Morkel was procuring and got out for 12 off 17 balls. Shaiman Anwar, UAE’s leading run scorer in the tournament, got a start but was unable to make anything meaningful of it. He got out for 39 to Imran Tahir.
Once the match was well within control, AB de Villiers decided to utilise his bowling abilities and he struck not once but twice. He took thew wickets of Saqlain Haider and Amjad Javed in quick succession. He used the short ball to lure batsmen into hitting him and they fell for the trap and got out.
Swapnil Patil batted brilliantly he scored 57 not-out when the ninth and final wicket fell. Fahad Alhashmi couldn’t bat since he was injured.
