South African batsmen AB de Villiers achieved  the new milestone at the ongoing World cup as he entered the top 10 all time scorers list besides breaking the tournament record for most sixes by a player.

With his 99 runs knock against UAE he became only the third player to fall for 99 at a World Cup after Australia’s Adam Gilchrist in 2003 and de Villiers’ Proteas teammate JP Duminy in 2011.But his innings lifted his total tally of runs scored at World Cups to 1,142, placing him seventh on the overall list topped by retired Indian icon Sachin Tendulkar  (2278) runs.

Here are the list of Top 10 Run scorer in World cup history.
