The internet is an infinite and mystifying place. It is a place where you can be a completely different personality altogether (And no one would ever know!) You can visit ‘n’ number of information websites, social media sites, online shopping hubs and it’s an endless list. But then again, have you thought about it this way… That this is the sole reason behind why the internet is actually unsafe.
Go on and admit! There are a huge number of things each one of us do online that could get awfully awkward if someone happens to come across. From doing everything that could lead to internet shaming to setting the simplest and easily accessible passwords; here is a list that every woman will instantly relate to.
1.) You’ve left your desktop/ laptop available without locking it, leaving your Facebook profile open, leading to you falling prey to a prank on your Facebook status update.
Admit! We’ve all done this at least once in our lives. Walking away from our desk leaving our Facebook profiles accessible to predators who have the itch of changing profile pictures and putting up funny status updates.
2.) Stumbled upon the word ‘SALE’ or ‘FREE’ and clicked on the link with all excitement.
Women and their obsession with shopping can never change! The moment you’ve seen these two words that happen to appear in glittering ink flashing on your screen, you’ve clicked on it, hoping to find something unique to buy.
3.) Stalked your crush or significant ex on almost every platform they have an account on.
Whether in love or out of love, anyone who has ever had or has the potential to share a connection with you just needs to be stalked! We’ve all done that but come on, how many of us admit to it?
4.) And then stalked a particular chick who has commented on or liked all your crush’s or significant ex’s profile picture and posts.
Well, that’s more like a protocol. It comes with its own share of terms and conditions (Crafted and drafted by you). “Who could she be?” “Why would she like his picture/ status?” “What if they have something brewing?” and so on!
5.) Took a run through of your to-be dates before even going on a date with them.
So you’ve been asked out on a date, but before you go out with someone, you certainly need to know all about him, right? From what kind of posts does he share and like to what are the places he has travelled to, only after which can you go out with that lucky boy!
6.) Aimlessly scrolled through someone’s Instagram and happened to like a picture that is a year old.
The panic that strikes is beyond explanation. The unstoppable stalking is perfectly fine, but then double tapping an image that is a good one year old clearly confirms the fact that you’ve been at your stalking best! #Awkward
7.) Taken a few random quizzes that appear on your timeline. “Which F.R.I.E.N.D.S character are you?”
From “Which home you should live in?” to “Which spirit animal are you?” You’ve been there and done that all. There have also been a plethora of occasions when you’ve thought, “Whoa! How accurate could this get?”
