Reunions offer an opportunity to reconnect with friends from your youth and learn about the people they’ve become (good people, hopefully). It’s always better to hear their news in person than on social media, because there is so much warmth when you meet face to face. When that invitation to a high school reunion shows up, your first instinct may be to toss it in the trash.

After all, adolescence is usually an awkward time that most people would rather forget rather than reminisce about. While many people will say that high school was the best time of their lives, this isn’t always true for everyone. Still, there are plenty of reasons why attending your high school reunion is a good idea.

1.) You survived all these tedious years after high school which is a big reason to celebrate!

Cheers!!! You deserve this much needed celebration where you & your like minded classmates & batchmates feel exactly same about meeting after years. We, all have by now realised that life does gets difficult after high school – specially after the cosy days of high school are over.

2.) If you’re married or in a relationship, to show your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend where you come from.

You can tour your hometown, introduce old friends and share stories that you have memories about thus helping you to forge an even stronger bond. Of course, unless you are one of the luckiest people in the world and still married to your high school sweetheart (which is even more of a cause to celebrate with mutual friends)! Attending your high school reunion with your spouse is a great way to share a part of your formative years.

3.) And of course, to re-live old memories!

Its an awesome time to reminisce the golden days of life. Be it sharing naughty jokes, scribbling on the last pages of notebooks, flying paper planes in the classroom with secret notes, eating in between the lectures, being punished for laughing loud on a group joke ….aww there are infinite such memories that you want to live as you go back in time!

4.) Chance upon an event to meet with your ex-crushes and high school fling buddies.

Lol! Some of the faces will make you wonder what were you thinking then and some might just make you smile. This is the perfect time to gamble your luck. Maybe there was a crush you were too shy to talk to (they were probably shy as well), or an old girlfriend or boyfriend you’d love to see again.

Its great to see old buddies face to face instead of Facebook. People who used Photoshop & Instagram effects to look thin/fat, fair or tall are now in front of you as they are. Well that was on a lighter side. But honestly, you would just be glad to see them again.

You may re-kindle with the so called ‘enemy’ you had & the whole school knew about. It need not necessarily be for a girl that you became enemies but what ever the reason be, it’s a great time TO SURPRISE everyone by spitting the ego & coming on good terms with each other.

7.) A chance to finally network away from LinkedIn!

LinkedIn is great, but to show your PR skills face to face interaction is just mandatory & what place better than a re-union. Your own batchmates by now have become the who’s who in their respective fields. Those little business cards you put in your wallet may help you some day. You never know. #JustSaying
